The first written references to the mill, also called del Congost or del Marcús, date back to the year 1309. At the beginning of the 19th century, a small flour mill was installed there and, towards the end of the century, it was transformed into a wood sawmill for the manufacture of smoking pipe bowls; hence the popular nickname Les Pipes Mill. Between 1958 and 1959, the mill house hosted a small water carafe bottling plant under the brand “Agua Fuente de las Pipas”.
Currently, it is a restaurant very popular with walkers and hikers.
