Town Square

The Town Square is the center of the historic heart of Arbúcies. From the 10th century until the 19th century, it maintained the function of a parish cemetery. From the second half of the 19th century, with the relocation of the cemetery, it became the space for community celebrations. Around the square are concentrated some of the oldest buildings in the town, such as the church of Sant Quirze and Santa Julita, the arches of the square, la Gabella, cal Notari… and the imposing Square Tree or Tree of Liberty, which presides over it.
