The Sant Martí and Castanyada d’Amer Fair is one of the most representative autumn celebrations in the La Selva region, notable for its strong historical, cultural and gastronomic roots. Born as an old livestock fair linked to the town’s medieval origins, it has evolved to become a living example of popular tradition, crafts and the promotion of local products.
Among the most unique elements of the celebration are the Popular Chestnut Festival and the Chestnut Roasters Competition, activities that have become a symbol of Amer’s identity and that contribute to preserving traditional Catalan customs linked to autumn.
The combination of history, gastronomy, popular culture and citizen participation makes this fair a consolidated, family event with a great capacity for continuity over time.
