This signposted trail from Sant Benet to El Far forms part of an old royal road that historically linked two elevated points in the municipality of Susqueda. The section from the Coll Sanctuary to Sant Benet follows the former cart road connecting Girona and Vic, which ran along numerous mountain ridges. There is also evidence that a path led from Susqueda (now submerged beneath the reservoir) to Sant Martí Sacalm and continued from there to El Far.
