This arched stone gateway, dating from the 14th century, is the only one out of four in the town still preserved in its original form. Also known as the Portal dels Ollers, it offers passage to the path of the same name, which links with the track leading to the orchards, the mill and the Tordera river. Outside the walls here, there was once a public washhouse as well as resting places where people who had come up from the orchards could take a break.
Do you know where this gateway leads? The clue is in the name! If you are interested in walking about the area, try one of the signposted routes: around the castle, or down to the Tordera river and the waterside park. Take your pick!
