Mare de Déu del Part – osor

According to documentary evidence, Mare de Déu del Part (Our Lady of El Part) was a sanctuary that existed as early as the 14th century. It was located on the Camí del Coll road and was used as a resting place by pilgrims going on a pilgrimage to the Mare de Déu del Coll (Our Lady of El Coll).

Despite this, its origin was a chapel in an old farmhouse, which no longer exists but was devoted to the infrequent worship of the birth of Our Lady. In 1687, it was documented as being a public chapel and the current building basically dates back to a restoration in the 19th century. As can be seen, the building is currently in ruins, but it consisted of a rectangular nave, a doorway with a semi-circular arch, and a bell-gable with a single arch and covered in tiles. It has not been used for worship since the Spanish Civil War and its state of total abandonment seriously jeopardises its structure.
