This old school stands as a noteworthy piece
of architectural heritage, as it documents a
socio-cultural process of great significance in
the contemporary history of Catalonia and Spain:
the spread of public education throughout
most of the country during the first half of the
20th century. (During the time of the Second
Republic, 1931–1939, the construction and
establishment of new schools was very
extensive).
