Vidreres is a municipality in the inland Selva plain that combines its rural essence with a long history linked to paths, farmhouses and the forest landscape. In fact, throughout its history, the municipality has seen the passage of the Romans with the Via Augusta, was administered by the Cabrera lineage, and experienced significant episodes of the Civil War.
Among the main attractions of Vidreres are the Castle of Sant Iscle, the church of Santa Maria de Vidreres and Santa Susanna de Caulès, all linked to the legacy of the Cabrera, the imposing Llobet Tower and its three reservoirs; as well as various spaces related to the Civil War, such as the trenches in the forest of Can Puig, where remains are still preserved, including the trenches, the bunker of en Batllosera, and the former airfield.
The tradition of El Ranxo de Vidreres is also a deeply rooted event in the village, in which gastronomy plays a very important role.
