In the municipality of Arbúcies there are more than one hundred identified springs, another example of the close and vital relationship it has with water.
Throughout the town we find a series of springs, the so-called pump springs, which use a hydraulic pump or manual water pump to extract water from the groundwater table and thus take advantage of the water resources of the aquifers. There are six in total. These fountains are operated manually by pumping water through a handle. The taps and mechanisms of these fountains were made by the company Casals-Gómez, from Girona, and were installed in public wells in different streets of Arbúcies in 1908.
The Fountain of Can Salau, located on Castell street, was built in 1908 and its last restoration dates from 2012.
