Xifra House

The Xifra House is a farmhouse, completely renovated, which currently serves as the headquarters of the Forestry Training School. The main building has two floors and an attic, with a side-sloping roof. On the right side stands a four-storey quadrangular tower. All openings are new, in Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance styles (mullioned windows, trefoil arches and window hoods). It is a historic building in the area.

The Xifra house Forestry School is a public school of the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda of the Government of Catalonia, located at the foot of the Guilleries, in Santa Coloma de Farners, capital of the Selva region. The aim of this school is the professional qualification of people who wish to develop their activity in the gardening sector, the beekeeping sector and the forestry and natural environment conservation sector, through comprehensive training that enables them to perform their professional tasks effectively and facilitates their integration into the labour market.

The former owner of Xifra house was Dolors Fornés Alibés, and the heir is Ramon Vilahur, who is the current owner of some of the surrounding land of the estate.
