Following the natural course of the water towards the bed of the riera d’Arbúcies, you will find the heritage of the Roquer forge and mill. This space represents the working and manufacturing past of Arbúcies. The origin of the site dates back to an old flour mill that used hydraulic energy to grind cereal. In the mid-19th century, this infrastructure evolved with the construction of the forge of the Roquer, a metallurgical plant dedicated to copper or brass forging. Over time, the building was a true industrial chameleon, successively housing a leather tannery, a wood turning workshop, and, finally, the first coach bodywork workshops, which sowed the seeds of the town’s main current industry. The forge can be considered one of the best examples of industrial heritage in the municipality and a reflection of the economic dynamism of Arbúcies and Montseny at the time.

Today, the building has been restored and houses the Arbúcies Stream Interpretation Centre, while its large outdoor pond is a very popular public space that serves as a gateway to the valley’s hiking routes.
