Church of Sant Pere

The Church of Sant Pere d’Osor occupies a central place in the village, not only because of its location in the town centre, but also because of the role it has played for centuries in the life of Osor. Documented since the Middle Ages, it has been the space around which religious celebrations, community gatherings and important moments in local history have centred.

The building retains elements of Romanesque origin, but also displays the transformations it has undergone over time. As is often the case with churches that have remained in use, Sant Pere is not a static artefact from a single era, but the result of reforms and adaptations that illustrate the village’s continuity and how each generation has left its mark.

Its presence in the centre of Osor helps to understand the importance of this temple within the identity of the municipality. It stands out not just as a religious building, but as an urban and emotional landmark for the local population. As part of Enselva’t, a visit to Sant Pere d’Osor offers a way to read the town’s history from its very centre, connecting the medieval past with the municipality’s present-day life.
