Fogars de la Selva is a rural municipality, with small scattered settlements and a close relationship with the natural and forested environment. Much of the municipality forms part of the Parc Natural del massís del Montnegre, although it also has more agricultural areas linked to the alluvial plain of the river Tordera.
Among fields and forests, the municipality preserves a peaceful pace of life and a strong identity linked to agricultural and forestry traditions, as shown by the many farmhouses scattered throughout the municipal area.
Fogars de la Selva has several points of interest, such as the Church of Sant Cebrià of Fogars, located at the foot of the river Tordera, the hermitages of Mare de Déu de la Serra and Sant Andreu de Ramió, in the heart of the Parc Natural del Montnegre, the volcano of Sant Corneli and the Museum of the Pagesia, which bears witness to the rural life of the area and its connection with the forest and the countryside.
