The Corpus Christi carpets fill the historic center of Blanes every year with a mosaic of colors, flowers and aromas. This traditional festival, one of the most emblematic of the town, fills the streets of the Raval neighborhood with floral carpets made by hand with flowers, leaves, bark and other natural elements.
Throughout Sunday, the historic center becomes an open-air workshop where residents, artists and organizations jointly create these carpets. The result is a visual and aromatic spectacle that surprises young and old.
The tradition of floral carpets for Corpus Christi dates back many years, but for the past 40 years it has gained momentum to turn this event into what it is today: a visual and aromatic spectacle.
It takes place in the streets of the Raval neighborhood closest to the church of Santa Maria. The carpets represent motifs linked to Blanes, such as the town’s coat of arms, maritime landscapes and elements of Mediterranean culture.
