The Fountain the Mina, also known as Raig d’en Mel or d’en Xiberta, is one of the best-known thermal springs in Caldes de Malavella. It appeared following a soil excavation carried out to drain a swampy field, and at the bottom of that small depression, the water began to gush out with force.
The water comes from the Moleres hill and emerges at a temperature close to 60 °C. The complex is not understood merely as a fountain: the surplus water was used in public laundry basins, turning this space into a place where thermalism was part of daily life, not just for body care.
