The Mina Spring- Caldes de Malavella

The Font de la Mina, also known as Raig d’en Mel or d’en Xiberta, is one of the best-known thermal springs in Caldes de Malavella. It appeared following a soil excavation carried out to drain a swampy field, and at the bottom of that small depression, the water began to gush out with force.

The water comes from the Puig de les Moleres spring and emerges at a temperature close to 60 °C. The complex is not understood merely as a fountain: the surplus water was used in public laundry basins, turning this space into a place where thermalism was part of daily life, not just for body care.
