Spring of the Bullidors – Caldes de Malavella

The Spring of the Bullidors is a thermal water spring located in the surroundings of Turó de Sant Grau, within the municipality of Brunyola. It is a natural emergence point of groundwater that flows at an approximate temperature of 60 °C, giving it a unique character within the thermal spring system of the comarca of la Selva.

The site is a simple built fountain, with a single outlet spout and access via steps that lead to the water capture point. The water originates from a natural spring and has traditionally been channelled for use, maintaining a functional structure adapted to the environment.

Historically, the water of the Bullidors was already used in Roman times for thermal purposes. Later, throughout the 20th century, it also had significant commercial use: in 1902 it was bottled under the name “Vichy Caldense”, later “Agua Xala”, and finally, from 1912 onwards, as “Agua Imperial”, consolidating its value as a key hydro-mineral resource.
