The bridge over the Santa Coloma intermittent river is an iron bridge situated close to where this intermittent river joins the river Tordera. It is painted red and has two large arches, lowered in the centre joined by three crossed joists.
The bridge was built between 1916 and 1918, but it was located in Granollers, over the river Congost, along with a sister bridge. In January 1939, however, it was blown up by the Republican troops during their retreat, and only the current bridge was left standing. This half was transported to its current location in order to cross the Santa Coloma intermittent river on the road between Hostalric and Tordera.
Curiously, the distance to span for the Santa Coloma intermittent river was slightly greater than that of the river Congost, so the bridge had to be cut to adapt it to the new location. This is why, due to their extension, the arches seem to protrude a little.
