The Monument to the Dona Marinera, also known as the “Venus of Lloret”, is a bronze sculpture located at the end of Lloret de Mar’s main beach, on a natural viewpoint overlooking the coastline. It is one of the most iconic images of the municipality and one of its main urban symbols.
The work was created in 1966 by sculptor Ernest Maragall i Noble and stands on a granite block. It depicts a 2.40-metre-tall female figure looking out to sea and raising her hand in a gesture of greeting or farewell. The monument was commissioned as a tribute to fishermen’s wives, who remained on land while the men went out to sea, and is closely linked to Lloret’s maritime heritage.
Located along the coastal path between Lloret and Fenals beaches, the monument has become an emblematic viewpoint and one of the most visited spots in the municipality, both for its symbolic value and its direct connection with the coastal landscape.
