Around Arbúcies there are more than a hundred fonts, or water fountains, that have been identified within the municipality. This is yet another indication of the close and vital relationship the town has with water. In the different neighbourhoods of the town these include a number of so-called fonts de bomba, which use a hydraulic or manual water pump to draw water from the water table via a nearby well. There are six of these in total, and they are unique in that they are operated manually by pumping the water with a hand crank. The taps and mechanisms of these fountains were made by the Casals-Gómez foundry in Girona in 1908.
This is one of the most popular water fountains in the town of Arbúcies. It protrudes from the façade of Cal Serraller, in the Sorrall street, to which it is adjoined. The water flows from a metal spout representing the face of a male figure, and falls into a half-height tiled rectangular basin. The name was taken from that of a local choir called Bon Humor. In 1952, the choir dedicated a plaque to the fountain, which is still attached to the top of the structure.
