Santa Brígida church

From the car park next to the local football ground—at the end of the village in the direction of Olot—a pleasant walk of about 50 minutes (one way), with an elevation gain of around 250 metres, takes us up to the Santa Brígida church. The route leaves the car park up a steep cemented incline, and after a short distance passes by a farmhouse, from which point white signs indicate the rest of the way. Beyond the farmhouse you will find the Restaurant Nyanya (Can Menció), where the route moves onto a track, and then leaves it to follow a narrow, straight and quite enchanting path, surrounded by holm oaks, common oaks and rosemary bushes (it is pleasant to gently touch the flowers when they are in bloom). Continue along this path until it crosses the track again, a little way further up.

For a slightly easier walk, stay on the wider track until you reach the Casa del Castell (House of the Castle) and then, where the pavement ends by the house, turn off to the right to join the narrow path.

When you get to this point, you are already more than halfway there. Continue up the path to reach the church and the imposing rocky outcrop on which it stands. This will only be revealed as you arrive, and from there you can enjoy magnificent views of the village of Amer and the peaks of the Girona Pyrenees, including Puigsacalm, el Far, Castell d’Estela, Sant Gregori, Puig d’Afrou and Santa Bárbara, stretching from north to south.

Church of Sant Climent d’Amer

This route begins on Carrer de Girona, and follows this street until reaching the C-63 road. It then continues along Avinguda de la Selva, before turning onto the Camí de Sant Climent d’Amer track, which is signposted.

Continue along this track for approximately 3.5 km to reach the church of Sant Climent d’Amer, which is situated on the left-hand side.
