In the municipality of Arbúcies there are more than a hundred identified springs, another example of the close and vital relationship it has with water.
Throughout the town we find a series of fountains, the so-called pump fountains, which use a hydraulic pump or manual water pump to extract the water from the groundwater and thus take advantage of the water resources of the aquifers. There are six in total. These fountains are operated manually by pumping the water through a handle. The taps and mechanisms of these fountains were made by the Casals-Gómez company, from Girona, and were installed in public wells on different streets in Arbúcies in 1908.
The Can Salau fountain, located on Castle Street, was built in 1908 and last restored in 2012.
