Sant Feliu de Buixalleu is an extensive municipality, with a rural and forested character, where small villages such as Grions, Sant Feliu and Gaserans, together with its religious heritage, are integrated into a broad landscape. The territory conveys a feeling of calm and rootedness, closely linked to the paths, farmhouses and nearby mountains.
Despite being a municipality with a small population, Sant Feliu de Buixalleu has important historical references in Catalonia. Next to the river Tordera, for example, you can visit the Gorg d’en Perxistor, a monument that recalls the murder of the Count of Barcelona, Ramon Berenguer II, at the hands of his brother Berenguer Ramon. Or, on the border with the municipality of Arbúcies, you can visit the Castle of Montsoriu, in the heart of the Montseny Natural Park (Biosphere Reserve), which recalls the times when the territory was controlled by the Cabrera lineage.
The municipality, in addition to being partly within the Montseny Natural Park, is also crossed by the Natural Interest Area of the Arbúcies stream, both of which can be visited by following the Tourdera route.
