The Sant Ponç Festival and the dance of Flocs is the most emblematic traditional celebration of Riudarenes, held every year around the Sunday closest to May 11th. It is a festival that pays tribute to Sant Ponç, patron saint of herbalists and beekeepers. The central event is the traditional Ball dels Flocs, where dancers wear colorful ribbons on their clothing.
The initiation ceremony consists of a traditional dance that serves as a ritual of presentation or initiation for local youth. The central and most emotional moment of the festival is when the dance couples perform a historic choreography shared with the entire village.
