Les Agudes

The Montseny is a mountain massif that forms part of the Pre-Coastal Range and is made up of three clearly defined mountain groups: the Pla de la Calma, the sector formed by the hill of l’Home and Les Agudes, and the hill of Matagalls. The latter is connected to the ridge of the hill of l’Home (1,705.8 m) and Les Agudes (1,705.4 m) by the coll de Sant Marçal, which forms the headwaters of the Tordera river basin.

Les Agudes, with an altitude of 1,705 metres, is one of the most emblematic mountains of the massif. Its summit lies between the municipalities of Arbúcies, in the comarca of la Selva, and Fogars de Montclús and Montseny, in the comarca of Vallès Oriental.

As for the hydrographic network, the main watercourses that drain the Montseny massif are the Tordera on the southern slope; the Arbúcies stream to the east; and the Congost to the west.
