The Viscountship of Cabrera, in the religious sphere, comprised several parishes with their respective churches and hermitages, which provided religious services to the community. Likewise, several monasteries of different religious orders were founded there.
The church is of Romanesque origin and is documented in 1190, but the current building dates from the 16th and 17th centuries, and the bell tower from the 18th century. On 3 May 1640, the soldiers of the Terç de Moles burnt and razed the church during the revolt that marked the start of the War of the Catalans. The new building was constructed during the second half of the 17th century.
It is a building with a Latin cross plan. The façade features a large circular window and a gallery of brick arches, which are now bricked up. The bell tower, attached to the south façade, retains its original structure and is built from granite blocks.
