Brunyola Castle is a key element for understanding the origins of the village. Although it has Romanesque roots, the image we see today mainly belongs to the 15th-century work: a square-plan fortress with towers at the corners, integrated into the village centre and listed as a Cultural Asset of National Interest.
The northern façade preserves some of the complex’s most expressive features, such as the voussoired doorway and Gothic windows. In some walls, older sections of opus spicatum can still be seen, reminding us that the castle is not just a defensive structure but an accumulation of centuries. Restored in modern times, it now houses the Town Hall, keeping its central role in the community alive.
