Tres Tombs Festival

The Tres Tombs Festival is one of Catalonia’s most deeply rooted folk traditions. It is traditionally held around 17 January in honour of Sant Antoni Abat, the patron saint of hoofed animals. The celebration consists of a procession making three circuits through the town with horses, carts and other draught animals, which are then blessed. This festival celebrates the town’s agricultural heritage.

In the comarca of La Selva, the Tres Tombs Festival and the blessings of Sant Antoni Abad are held most notably in the following towns:

  • Maçanet de la Selva
  • Vidreres
  • Lloret de Mar
  • Blanes
