Americanos Fair

Every year, the Americanos Fair transforms Lloret de Mar into a journey back in time, paying tribute to the people of Lloret who emigrated to the Americas—especially Cuba—during the 19th and 20th centuries. Upon returning, they left behind an important cultural, social and architectural legacy known as the Indiano heritage. For three days, the town recaptures the spirit of that era with decorations inspired by the Caribbean and the former overseas territories.

The fair takes place mainly on Jacint Verdaguer Promenade and in la Vila Square, which fill with music, colour and historical re-enactments that transport visitors and residents back to the colonial atmosphere of the period. The streets host a large themed craft market featuring period products, demonstrations of traditional trades and stalls inspired by Cuban and American culture.

Music and gastronomy also play a prominent role in the celebration. Live concerts, havaneres, dancing and street entertainment create a festive, tropical atmosphere, while tastings of coffee, chocolate and rum, together with cocktail workshops featuring drinks such as the daiquiri, offer an opportunity to discover flavours associated with the Americanos tradition.

The fair also features cultural activities and theatrical guided tours that invite visitors to discover Lloret de Mar’s most emblematic Indiano buildings, as well as exhibitions explaining the history and the legacy left by the Americanos in the town.
