The Fira dels Americanos transforms Lloret de Mar every year into a journey into the past to pay homage to the people of Lloret de Mar who, during the 19th and 20th centuries, emigrated to America —especially to Cuba— and who, upon returning, left an important cultural, social and architectural legacy known as the Indian past. For three days, the town recovers the essence of that era with an atmosphere inspired by the Caribbean and the former overseas territories.
The fair is held mainly on Passeig Jacint Verdaguer and Plaça de la Vila, spaces filled with music, colors and historical recreations that transport visitors and residents to the colonial atmosphere of the time. The streets host a large thematic and craft market with period products, demonstrations of traditional crafts and stalls inspired by Cuban and American culture.
Music and gastronomy are also prominent protagonists of the celebration. Live concerts, habaneras, dances and street entertainment create a festive and tropical atmosphere, while coffee, chocolate and rum tastings, along with cocktail workshops such as the daiquiri, allow you to discover the flavors linked to American tradition.
In addition, the fair offers cultural activities and theatrical visits that invite you to discover the most emblematic Indian buildings in Lloret de Mar, as well as exhibitions that explain the history and the mark that the Americans left in the municipality.
