Sant Julià del Llor i Bonmatí is a municipality that combines the importance of the river, the valley and industrial memory with a very present natural environment. The territory is structured around distinct settlements, landscape and heritage, offering a diverse reality closely connected with its past.
In terms of heritage, on the one hand, the municipality still preserves part of its past, with the medieval bridge, currently outside the course of the river Ter, which has changed its route during the numerous floods it has suffered throughout history. On the other hand, the remains of La Cavorca bear witness to the Roman past of the area. But if one fact has marked the municipality over time, it is the industrial colony that gave its name to the settlement of Bonmatí and fostered strong economic development in the municipality.
This past has left a legacy in the form of canals, remains of the industrial colony, weirs, and so on, closely linked to the river Ter.
