The municipality of Massanes is characterised by its forest environment, with dense woods crossed by rivers, streams and brooks, around which, over time, various farmhouses have been built throughout the territory.
Communication between these farmhouses required being able to cross rivers and brooks easily and, for this reason, the bridge of Can Remilans is still preserved today and has survived to the present day.
Despite being a sparsely populated municipality, the church of Sant Esteve and the hermitage of Sant Roc bear witness to the fact that this is a territory inhabited since ancient times. In fact, the ancient Roman route of the Via Augusta also passes through the municipality.
Through the Tourdera route, you can discover all these places in Massanes!
