Riudarenes is a municipality located between the plain and the mountains of La Selva, where the rural landscape, forests and heritage form a coherent whole full of character. Its history is closely linked to the parishes, the farmhouses and a natural environment that still today sets the rhythm of the territory.
The Castell d’Argimon, at the top of a hill 450 metres above sea level, is visible from any point in the municipality and offers panoramic views over the village of l’Esparra. Together with the church of Sant Martí, it forms part of the historical heritage of the Viscounty of Cabrera, and every year the Aplec d’Argimon is held there (a local celebration with popular activities).
Main section of the Camino de Santiago de la Selva through the mountain area, coinciding with the Carrilet Greenway.
