La Cellera de Ter is a municipality that lives in constant dialogue with the river Ter and the landscape of the valley. It is a place where the presence of water, recent history and the natural surroundings combine to offer a close, serene and authentic experience.
The village lies at the foot of the Guilleries, just where the river Ter leaves this massif, although water is present in many other settings as well: the riera d’Osor, the Pasteral reservoir, and many springs, washhouses, industrial canals, etc. In addition, the municipality is crossed by the Via Verda del Carrilet, which makes it possible to travel through all these points easily.
But the history of La Cellera de Ter has been written since ancient times, as shown by the Coves del Pasteral, which were already used as a necropolis during the Neolithic period. After a long period of restoration and interpretation, you can now enjoy this very unique place.
