Amer is a village with more than a thousand years of history, marked by its monastic past. This is reflected in the monastery of Santa Maria, the plaça de la Vila, the Torre de Rocasalva and hermitages such as Santa Brígida and Mare de Déu de la Pietat.
The municipality also stands out for its natural richness, with extensive forests and the presence of the river Brugent, which flows into the Ter and creates an environment of great beauty.
This landscape makes it an ideal place for outdoor activities, with the Via Verda del Carrilet as the main access route. Amer is also known for its springs, such as the Font Picant, among others, renowned for its carbonated waters of volcanic origin.
