The Venus of Lloret is one of the most recognisable images on the seafront of Lloret de Mar. Standing before the Mediterranean, this bronze female figure, created by Ernest Maragall, gazes towards the horizon with a calm presence that has become part of the town’s everyday landscape.
Its strength does not come from grandeur, but from the simplicity of the gesture. The figure seems to pause for a moment in front of the sea, an attitude that connects directly with Lloret’s maritime history, with departures, waiting and the town’s constant relationship with the coastline. For this reason, more than a decorative sculpture, the Venus works as a symbolic image of this bond with the sea.
Over time, it has become one of the most photographed spots in Lloret de Mar and an almost unavoidable stop for anyone walking along the seafront.
