Festa Major de Blanes and Costa Brava International Fireworks Competition

Coinciding with the Santa Anna Festival, Blanes celebrates the International Fireworks Competition every summer, one of the most emblematic and popular events on the Costa Brava. Held around July 26, the town’s patron saint’s day, the competition brings together thousands of people each year who fill the beaches and promenade to enjoy a spectacular display of light, color and music in front of the sea.

With more than 50 editions, the event has established itself as an international reference in the world of pyrotechnics. Companies from all over the world compete for several consecutive nights to offer the best show from the iconic Sa Palomera rock, symbol of Blanes and a privileged setting for the fireworks.

Beyond the pyrotechnics, the Festa Major keeps the traditional spirit of the town alive with activities such as the Ball de Morratxes, the correfocs, the giant parades, the castellers days and the Aplec de l’Amor in Cala Bona. Music also plays a prominent role with free concerts and the popular Barraques on the Passeig de Mar, turning Blanes into a great party open to the sea.
