Arbutus arbors

The Enramades d’Arbúcies are one of the most emblematic and deeply rooted popular festivals in the municipality, a celebration that combines tradition, ephemeral art and local participation. Declared a Traditional Festival of National Interest, this festival transforms the streets of the town into spaces full of color, creativity and collective identity.

The origin of the Enramades dates back to ancient popular celebrations linked to the decoration of the streets with branches, flowers and natural elements to welcome the festival. Over the years, this tradition evolved into the current floral carpets and ornaments that characterize the celebration.

One of the most prominent elements are the flower carpets, authentic works of art handcrafted by the locals, which fill the streets with ephemeral mosaics made with petals, dyed sawdust and natural materials. The festival also keeps alive the tradition of neighborhood parades, giants, music and the arbors that decorate squares and streets.

Beyond the festive aspect, the Enramades represent a strong sense of community and preservation of local cultural heritage, transmitting from generation to generation one of Arbúcies’ most unique and beloved traditions.
