In 1880, Dr. Modest Furest i Roca bought the land of Puig de les \u00c0nimes to exploit its thermal waters, which were first marketed as \u201cAgua del Puig de las Animas\u201d and, from 1891, under the name Vichy Catalan. That same year, the Balneari Vichy Catalan was built, designed by Gaiet\u00e0 Bu\u00efgas i Monrab\u00e0. The success of the bottling plant made the company grow and in 1900 the company SA Vichy Catalan was created.
