The church of Sant Dalmai is the main heritage landmark of the village of Sant Dalmai, within the municipality of Vilob\u00ed d\u2019Onyar. Set in a flat, open landscape, it preserves the character of the rural parishes that for centuries helped organise life around farmhouses, fields and small communities scattered across the territory.<\/p>\n

Documented since the Middle Ages, the church retains traces of its early origins, linked to the Romanesque period. Although later reforms altered its appearance, some elements still reveal the earliest construction phases, especially in the layout of the walls and in certain architectural details that help tell the story of the building.<\/p>\n

Over time, Sant Dalmai grew, and the church also adapted to new needs. The extensions and reforms carried out over the centuries should not be seen as a loss of its original value, but as the result of a building that remained in use and evolved alongside the community. This layering of different periods is one of the key aspects of its heritage interest.<\/p>\n

Today, the church of Sant Dalmai continues to have a strong presence within the village.
