Its strategic location reflects the defensive and territorial control function typical of medieval fortifications.<\/p>\n<p>Documented since 1106, the castle was part of the feudal domains of the Viscounty of Cabrera and later passed through different noble families. The current structure preserves its medieval layout, with an approximately square plan and remains of towers at the corners, despite later transformations and the impact of the 15th-century earthquakes.<\/p>\n<p>Today, the complex is integrated with the church of Sant Fruit\u00f3s, which incorporates part of the former defensive structure, including the bell tower built on top of an old castle tower.
