The complex is a medieval-origin church closely linked to the evolution of the castle, with which it shares space and defensive structures.<\/p>\n<p>The current building is the result of a 16th-century reconstruction after the severe damage caused by the 1427 earthquakes, reusing part of the original walls, ancient construction elements, and one of the castle\u2019s towers, transformed into a bell tower. It is a single-nave church with side chapels, a stone voussoir doorway and an oculus, with a simple fa\u00e7ade strongly shaped by its location within the walled enclosure.<\/p>\n<p>One of its most distinctive elements is the bell tower, integrated into an old circular tower of the castle, nearly 25 metres high and topped with an octagonal crown.
