The bridge known as Pont Major (Main Bridge) is the oldest in the Arb\u00facies area, and since medieval times has been used to cross over the Riera d\u2019Arb\u00facies stream to join the roads leading to Viladrau and Sant Hilari. As it crosses this stream, the bridge straddles the backbone of the municipality, and several buildings of historical and architectural importance are located in its vicinity.<\/p>\n
Mol\u00ed del Roquer<\/p>\n
Mills played a key role in the traditional economy and life of the Arb\u00facies valley. This flour mill, of which the remains of two wheel cavities are preserved, was owned by a local family of the petty nobility, the Roquer family, who were responsible for milling grain here from the 15th century.<\/p>\n
Indeed, the Mol\u00ed del Roquer\u2014or Roquer mill\u2014 has been documented as a flour mill since the 15th century. From the beginning of the 20th century it also housed a small textile business.<\/p>\n
Can Delf\u00ed<\/p>\n
Can Delf\u00ed is an eclectic 19th-century building, named after its owner Delf\u00ed Masferrer, a textile industrialist. It occupies the upper floor of the old Roquer mill building.<\/p>\n
El Roquer<\/p>\n
Restoration was carried out in the 1940s, which gave this building the appearance it has today. During the Spanish Civil War, it was used as a shelter for children.<\/p>\n
Can Xacris<\/p>\n
Can Xacris, a three-storey corner building with a garden courtyard, is one of the most remarkable stately homes in the town. It was rebuilt in the mid 20th century, after being burnt down in 1936.
