This is yet another indication of the close and vital relationship the town has with water. In the different neighbourhoods of the town these include a number of so-called fonts de bomba, which use a hydraulic or manual water pump to draw water from the water table via a nearby well. There are six of these in total, and they are unique in that they are operated manually by pumping the water with a hand crank. The taps and mechanisms of these fountains were made by the Casals-G\u00f3mez foundry in Girona in 1908.<\/p>\n<p>Font de Bomba at Carrer de Damunt street This water fountain is built into the fa\u00e7ade of Cal Cisteller, located in the Carrer de Damunt street, which was awarded a prize in the street beautification competition of 1972.
