There were also a number of monasteries from various religious orders.<\/p>\n<p>The church is located on the site of the Romanesque chapel of Angl\u00e8s castle, mentioned in documents from the early 13th century, and intimately related with the Cabrera viscountcy family, the lords of the castle. The Romanesque temple lasted until the late 16th and early 17th centuries, when the church was reformed and extended in a late-Renaissance style with a number of baroque elements.
